Leaders Go First

Leaders ALWAYS go first. Leaders always lead the way and inspire others to action with their example. John Maxwell, one of my favorite authors and speakers on the subject of leadership offers the following from his book, “The Maxwell Daily Reader:”

Leaders …

  • Believe while others are doubting.

  • Plan while others are playing.

  • Study while others are sleeping.

  • Decide while others are delaying.

  • Prepare while others are daydreaming.

  • Begin while others are procrastinating.

  • Work while others are wishing.

  • Save while others are wasting.

  • Listen while others are talking.

  • Smile while others are frowning.

  • Commend while others are criticizing.

  • Persist while others are quitting

Go first.

Be an example to others.

Inspire others to be their best.

Be a difference maker!

Leaders see what is, but more importantly, they have vision for what could be.

They are never content with things as they are. To be leading, by definition,

is to be in front, breaking new ground, conquering new worlds,

moving away from the status quo.

- John Maxwell

All the best to you!
